Review: Remote Control Vibrating Egg

Remote Control Vibrating Egg

My first foray into the world of remote controlled Sex Toys was ok…whilst it lasted.

The Important Info

Created by Doc Johnson, this 7 function remote control egg arrives in a rather cheap plastic display style box that isn’t really suitable for storage between use. Included with the Egg are the 6 watch style cell batteries it requires and 1 12V N1 sized battery for the remote control. I’ve got the pretty pink ‘Fuchsia‘ coloured egg, but there is also a Blue Version Available.

The Egg is approx 6 cm long, 3 cm wide & close to 11 cm girth at its widest point.( 2.5″ x 1.25″) The remote control is quite small at 7 cm long x 3 cm wide x 1.5 cm deep. Both have plastic coated loops, on the Egg the loop is approx 8 cmm long and is there for safe and easy removal after use, the remote’s loop also has a small clip hook at the end so you, or your partner can attach it to your clothing, key ring or…well whatever you wish to attach it to.

The Egg is made of a velvety textured,phthalate free & body safe TPR (thermo plastic Elastomer). TPR is slightly porous and can’t be fully sterilised but it is Safe to use both silicone & water based lubes with it. The Top 2/3rd s of the egg unscrews from the base to allow you to change the batteries, but there is no seal, making this sex toy only splash-proof rather than water proof, so avoid submerging this adult toy or you may just fry it.

Simply clean with a cloth and warm soapy water or use your favourite toy cleaner.

Using the Remote Control Vibrating Egg

The egg is designed to be ‘worn’ internally whilst you, or your partner controls it’s vibrations via the small, discreet remote control. It can be used solo or as a couple and can be both a tool for pleasure or for intensifying your Kegel excersizes Whilst I was a little scared of the small size of the 24K gold plated Ben Wa Balls I recently reviewed, I am totally at easy with the size of this egg and reassured as it does have that all important string-like loop for easy removal.

There’s 4 different vibration levels & 3 varied patterns of vibration, none of which I found to be that intense, but then again I’m into really intense vibrations. Just because it didn’t suit me Doesn’t mean it won’t suit you. As it is an egg the Vibrations are pretty evenly distributed, but I found them to be just slightly stronger in the base of the egg where the motor is housed.

Although designed to be used or worn internally the eggs vibrations can be very enjoyable for clitoral and other external stimulation. I haven’t ever tried using it with any other sex toy, but found the greatest enjoyment from it vibrating away inside my vagina during anal sex. It was far better being used in this way than any other insertable vibrator I own as it just went about its business leaving my hands, as well as his free to do other things. (It was even better than wearing my beloved We Vibe2 during Anal)

I have to say I’ve always been very excited about the prospect of remote control style sex toys, but the reality really was a let down. Many of my dirty ‘playing with sex toys whilst doing the shopping‘ fantasies are now dismantled. Sadly the remote only worked as I had hoped when it was in my hands, less than 3 feet from the toy, any further and both distance and I’m guessing human flesh diminished the strength of the remote signal. So I guess I should rescind my wish for a we vibe 3 with remote control functions unless they can produce one that is powerful enough to be used at a distance of more than a few feet and can send a signal through the flesh to where the toy is being used, or worn as the case may be.

This remote signal failure isn’t a fatal flaw as it prevents the toys vibration speed and pattern from being changed, it doesn’t stop the toy from working if the remote is out of range. So set it to the speed you like before you enter the supermarket rather than after you grab your trolley.

Finally, Although it has a great sturdy loop for easy removal I still wouldn’t go using this egg for Anal Play. When dealing with pussy there’s only so far a toy can run (as kindly pointed out by both Adriana from ofsexandlove.com & Cherry from The Cherry Scoop on my previous review of the 24K gold plated Ben Wa Balls), but when dealing with your ass, there’s a whole myriad of places a toy could migrate to – so stick to toys with flared bases for Anal play – don’t go becoming an Urban Legend style story.

I can’t love all sex toys I review, this is one I like, but can’t say I love. The remote issue and the slightly weak for my tastes vibration strength leave me giving this Egg a 2.5 out of 5 even though I loved it for other reasons. It may be great for beginners and those who don’t wantt intense vibrations, just because I’m not in love with it doesn’t mean others won’t be.

Final Note: I failed sex toy care 101 with this sex toy. Between playing with it about a month ago and now returning to finalise my review I failed to remove the batteries – something I always do with ALL battery powered toys – and the battery in the remote have died, rendering my egg lifeless

If the egg had some way of being switched on without the remote I would be a much happier girl.

They arrived in a simple basic plastic packaging, the style of packaging designed to hang under a shelf. The 2 golden Balls come with a really nice black velvet storage pouch.

The Balls them selves are quite small at around 1.7cm wide ((sorry I couldn’t find a way to accurately measure their circumference)) the same size as an Australian 5cent piece and they have some weight about them, but I have no way to weigh them – bugger.

They are both solid & Identical, made from Chromium Steel coated with 24K Gold plating. The manufacturers claim that this 24k gold plating won’t chip crack or peel, I’ve dropped them, played marbles with them and done all I can to try to prove them wrong…but I can’t, they really don’t chip, crack or peel. They are also non porous and can be boiled to sterilise them without damaging the coating.

But...and this is a pretty huge BUT that’s where the positives end. Just like ‘Cockzilla‘ the teeny Tiny size of these Ben Wa Balls made me a little scared.

Other Ben Wa Ball style sex toys usually have a string or other design feature that keeps the balls attached to one another along with a string or other device that enables safe & easy removal. This pair of balls have neither. So they can possibly both go off in opposite directions with minds of their own rather than staying put, and they can decide to be difficult when you remove them, but as long as you only put them in your Vag they won’t migrate elsewhere  – But if you have recently had a baby wait until you have had your post-natal check up and know your cervix has closed again, as if your cervix is open they could possibly migrate and cause you harm.

I have tried using them, but that trial didn’t last long. Each time I tightened my PC muscles I could feel my muscles pulling the balls slightly deeper. I got scared about just how deep they were going, realising they may try to turn into squatters and refuse to leave despite my wish to evict them. Admittedly I tend to panic easily though,

The first one was friendly and left without protest, but it’s friend was hoping to set up camp. I couldn’t push it out, it wasn’t moved by Gravity, and wouldn’t dislodge when I tried jumping up and down to get it out of there. Eventually my finger had to go fishing to find it and personally evict the squatter!

I swear getting my kid to leave the premises was less stress inducing than getting ball #2 to leave.

But – there’s yet another big But … they do make nice fancy marbles! – I do like to try and find some kind of positive in everything.

My Much more Experienced and therefore Wiser Sex Toy Reviewing Comrades have pointed out in the comments below My great worry for your safety was greatly Un-Justified. So Some of the things I had said are now gone & I apologise for being so very harsh on these balls. My review has been edited somewhat, however the danger to post-partum women is very real, but considering my kid is 13 My personal fears were pretty much un founded.

I gave them a second chance last night, eviction was much easier, but still I would like them to be a little bigger and at least attached to each other, that way if I can reach the first one the second must follow.

Again though I am a woman who has given birth, although vagina’s are ingenious in there ability to bounce back to their original post baby size, the topography of mine changed greatly after giving birth. This weekend started off pretty boring and mundane. But by Saturday night I was with FWB, holed up in a great Hotel room screwing his brains out – I’m working on a post about that.

Sunday sucked, Although the goodbye kiss was sweet. I’m considering whether or not to ask FWB exactly what it is he wants from me??? My Power Bullet Breeze is (as pictured) White with a black O-ring and control push button.

It has a silky, powdery texture with a non gloss finish which I quite like. It has a very hard feel, and has a little weight too it, but not too much – weighing in at 9oz

It is simple to clean with good old warm water and some soap (I prefer a dis-infecting soap personally) and although it is water proof I still like to clean to inside of the battery caps of toys like these just to ensure they live a long life. For the same reason I generally remove batteries between uses as well.

Easy To Use

One button at the center of the end cap, pressing it cycles through the 3 vibration Intensities, followed by off. It really doesn’t get much simpler than that. It is also Waterproof and safe to use in the shower as well as fully submerged in the bath, spa, swimming pool or other watery location you like to play in. Batteries are easily replaced by simply screwing off the end cap , pop the batteries in the small pull out tray, put the tray back in and screw the end cap back on.

Vibration Intensity:

considering it is only powered by 4 x AAA batteries the Vibrations are pretty intense and although they are  felt strongest at the end of the bullet, the vibrations aren’t particularly focused, making it enjoyable for massaging any part of the body. I personally like to place it against my pussy lengthwise, feeling the vibrations travel all throughout my body.

Noise Factor

The two lower vibration settings are incredibly quiet and very discreet. On the Most Intense setting It Could Possibly Be heard through a closed door, but only If it wasn’t under the covers. Other Inventive Possibilities??

I personally Love bullets,  Having one that really fills me is very satisfactory. We Vibe 3?

I hope there will be a we vibe 3. There’s not much I don’t like about the We Vibe2 – but there is one thing I would change, I’m just not sure if it would be an Improvement or a hindrance?

However I’d love if it can with a remote control – I wish I could switch of the vibrations or alter their pattern whilst in use, which I sadly can’t manage to do without Interrupting the action. It would also make those out of the house adventures whilst wearing the We Vibe3 (?) even more exciting as he could ramp up the action at his desire.
