Link Directories

Getting Your Blog Listed in relative Blog directories will both Increase traffic to your site and help increase your Page Rank, all of which in turn helps make your site more successful and if you are looking to get paid advertising it can assist you to earn more per advertisement.

If, like me, you also have a tumblr account, remember to list that as a separate blog, especially if it also contains sexually related content.

Often In order to get listed in a directory you need to provide them with a reciprocal link, all sites that require a link back are Marked with an Asterix *, Whilst those that have sent me a lot of Traffic & I think are most Useful I’ve marked with a star.★, more stars for those who bring in more traffic.

So the Whole Purpose of Adding your site to directories and getting people to link to you is to get your site or blog seen. How do you know if it is being seen? You can check lots of different factors such as the number of pages that link to your site on google or yahoo, or what your google Pagerank is, or Alexa Rating etc.

I am only new to Twitter, I’ve made only 217 tweets at this point, but I’m hooked. I enjoy how easy it is to disseminate information throughout a community of peers – such has been evident in the sex and sex toy blogging community after what has come to be known as the ‘Eden Fallacies‘ scandal.  I’m also hooked on the instant gratification and interactivity of it all.

The Fallout of Which has earned itself the unflattering Moniker of ‘Eden’s Fallacies’ Visit Epiphora’s Latest Post On the Eden’s Fallacies for more Information -> Eden Fantasy’s  A Pattern of Deception.

@Essinem – Essin-em.com- Sexuality Happens- Another blogger mentioned in My last ‘Weekend Reading‘ post of bloggers who’ve been burned by EF, as a former employee of the company she was also treated very disrespectfully.

@aagblog - aagblog.com – Also mentioned last week, Always Aroused Girl has also had to take the company behind EF to court in order to get money owed to her. See her blog for more info on her troubles with them as well as the breaking Scandal. AAG even coined the term ‘bullshitilicious’ to describe the situation of EF being a link Black Hole earning their reputation yet another Black Mark.

But it doesn’t end there, more sex toy reviewers and members of the sex blogging community have been banned from the sites public forums without any warning for simply asking questions whilst others have been banned without even making a post to the forums.

I’m a Big Fat N00BIE and can’t really write about what is going on, but I can say it’s Fucked Up, and I can tell you about these great people who are being treated like crap and direct you to their sites to read about it for itself. I can also thank those who have spoken up and made this public so that other N00bs like me know to steer well clear of the bs.

I’ve been Lucky enough to have had quite a few run ins with celebrities – well at least musical celebrities via my x husbands work. However THE BEST celebrity encounter would be with Billy Joe from Green Day.

We took our then 7 yr old Son to his first concert, his first mosh pit when Green Day played in Sydney. Our son spent half of the show upon my x’s shoulder’s or mine – despite the fact that we were standing right on the front fence. At one point BJ was right in front of us and I could tell he was looking right at my son up on his dad’s shoulders directly behind me. I grabbed my sons leg to tugg at his shirt and tell him ‘Hey kid, Billy Joe is looking right at you’ In the few seconds in between tugging his shirt and returning my eyes to the stage Billy Joe started pointing at him. Then the pointy finger turned into a come here gesture. He was beckoning my son to get up onto the stage with him. Before I knew it I was helping pass my son over my head and up over the security guards so he could get up onto the stage. He then got to be the front man of Green Day for the next 5 minutes…..

Ok so it’s not my experience, nor is it sexual – but it’s fucking cool. I’ve eaten dinner with the Rolling Stones & their gold plated cutlery, Discussed the fact I don’t understand how to play guitar with the dude from Nickelback and had a cool conversation with the drummer from Metallica. (Ive also seen Courtney Love’s Snatch – but who hasn’t!) However My son getting to live out my dream in front of 40 odd thousand people – priceless. I just hope he never lives out my dream of being a prostitute!

With that I am done – ok so this meme was just a great excuse to swoon over Dave Grohl – but hey it’s my blog and my sexual fantasy!!

Weekend Reading

Sex Starved Love

Welcome to Another weeks worth of Weekend Reading. I apologise for its lateness, but I had my publishing abilities suspended after linking to a site that WordPress.com had black listed. I have now removed the link to lubetube the offending site and can hit the publish button once again.

This week two particular ‘themes’ or ‘situations’ that fall under the banner of ‘All things Sexual’ have really gotten under my skin. #1 is relationships where partners sexual drives are out of balance. #2 is people being fired or otherwise being discriminated because they write about sex online. (I’m sorry that there are so few blogs on this weeks reading list – my browser crashed & erased not only all the tabs I had open, but their history too grrr…Look out for a mid week reading list lol)

I know far too many truly amazing guys who are married or partnered up with truly ungrateful women. Men that long to tease, please, spoil and pleasure their partners both in and out of the bedroom but are being denied the satisfaction of bringing sexual pleasure to the woman they love. But it isn’t a one way street as their are plenty of women who long to suck and fuck their men til the cows come home out their being ignored.

Far too many people in relationships are going without and falling asleep sexually frustrated right beside the one they love. It is so common that the term ‘sexorexic’ has been coined!  It is a topic that I have strong feelings towards and intend to discuss further in the future.

This is a hole I could so easily fall into. With twitter accounts being linked to your email address you too could find yourself in hot water for expressing your sexual thoughts and feelings in tweets. Not all of these blogs and articles are from people who got fired…but they all found themselves in some uncomfortable situations due to sexual tweets!!

Considering that the ‘I got fired For Writing About Sex’ is published on part of the ‘Eden Fantasys network Isn’t it ironic that they too (Eden Fantasys) have fired or rather banned other sex bloggers from their very wide network of reviewers. (still editing this)

Why I Love Blogs

The how & the why behind the fact that I ♥ blogs so much

I’ve been working on putting together this weeks ‘Weekend Reading‘ post, however I ended up writing about why I love reading blogs and how I go about following them. I ended up so far from simply listing this weeks worth of favourite blogs that I thought I should simply create a post from it… So here it is.

One of the reasons I love to read peoples blogs is because they are written from their owner’s personal point of view – well duh!! – but what I mean is that I find blogs to be so much more personal and insightful than other forms of written media. Bloggers usually don’t have a boss to answer to, nor a set of rules to follow etc, they are writing to simply share themselves.  Most bloggers are sharing the most vulnerable parts of themselves, the parts that they cannot share with those people involved in their everyday life. I guess it appeals to the voyeur in me.

The connection between writer and reader is so much closer and intimate through blogs. A relationship that seems to grow over time as you follow them through the trials and tribulations of their lives. There are plenty of ways to follow blogs, you can bookmark them, subscribe to their rss feed and read their latest posts via your favourite reader – such as google reader, some (such as mine) you can subscribe to via email and you can often follow the author of a blog on twitter to be kept up to date as to their latest posts.

I personally follow my favourite blogs via twitter, and subscribe to their rss feeds via google reader. However I use an add on to my Fire Fox browser called ‘feedly‘ to have all of my favourite blogs I subscribe to via google reader  sorted and presented in an online magazine style page. It them all together in one place, in a super easy to sort through and read layout, All of which I can access with one click on the icon next to the address bar in Firefox – So please do Check Feedly out.

Most of my favourite blogs that I follow are linked to in the sidebar, or at the bottom of the page in my blogroll. My Rss Feed can be subscribed to via the little orange icon at the top of every page, or you can follow me @VioletScreaming on twitter. What’s your stance on long-distance online relationships?

#1 – Yes I have used a cell phone – or a mobile phone as us people down under call them – for both the sending and receiving of racy images and messages. I have conducted a pseudo long distance relationship via txt messages. My only problem was always hitting send to early, accidentally erasing long messages before sending them as well as accidentally sending something slightly sexual to the wrong person **FacePALM**

#2 Yes I have. Way, way, way back when webcams were first out, back in the dial up dinosaur days, my husband & I had sex whilst others watched us online. It was pretty cool. I have no idea if there’s footage of it out there floating around, but I doubt it. I’m not sure that I would do the same thing now though. With sites like youporn & porn tube I would be too worried it would end up somewhere like that!

#4 Yes, Almost everyday. But not always for sexual pleasure and only rarely with a partner. Lately it’s been more for the purposes of this blog as opposed to looking at or watching it for sexual gratification or release.

#5 X-Rated content is far too easy to access, Any one of any age can view X rated content online. And with so many new sites and feeds being created it is difficult to keep on top of them all in order to block their use on your computer. With programs like net nanny etc. to prevent our kids from seeing things they shouldn’t be.

I will even ‘man up’ and admit to my own failures in this category – 1) If you use the family ps2 to view a pornographic film – remember to remove it before your kids go to play their favourite game. This was very embarrassing, but nothing more than the DVD’s title was seen. & 2) I have fallen afoul of my browser’s address bar remembering past sites I have visited and the auto-complete feature. – youporn.com came up when my teenage son was trying to go to youtube.com. Luckily their landing site meant he saw nothing – but again..embarrassed! lol. I’m not naive – I know my son most likely has and will view naked women at some point soon in his life. I just don’t want him seeing what I’m seeing!!! It is one thing to steal a copy of your dads playboy magazine, but following mums online viewing – it seems totally different, I think it would cause him great embarrassment too. He now uses chrome whilst I stick to firefox.

However as he has his own iPod touch, he can access online media without me ever knowing – so again. Yes it is too easy to access.

BONUS QUESTION: I do think they can work. Love is a powerful force, and if you are truly in love you can face any hurdle as long as you are willing to fight for that love.
